A couple of months ago, we encountered an issue at Lemonly. We had too much work for our current designers, Amy and Ana, to handle. We felt lucky to have this problem and we immediately went on the search to add another top-notch designer to our ranks. That’s where Ashton enters. Not only does she do stellar work, her name also begins with an “A,” which now appears to be a necessity at Lemonly.

Ashton has been a part of the team for about a month and has already put out some awesome work, some of which was recently featured on Huffington Post and Mashable.

Here’s why Ashton rocks:

1. Where are you originally from?

Freeman, SD

2. What led you to become a designer?

I’ve been creative from the start. I was always doing crafts and drawing when I was young. I do remember designing and writing my first magazine when I was 10 years old. It was huge in the circles I ran in at the time. My mom still has a copy. Pretty sure I used Jokerman font for the whole thing… rookie mistake.

3. What drew you to Lemonly?

I love the creative freedom and the chance to work with other up-and-coming companies.

4. What would be your dream design project?

I would love to design a cookbook someday, or an infographic for any of the many food bloggers I follow.

5. What do you like to do in your free time?

As you could guess from the question above, I love to cook and bake, especially. But I can also be found reading, playing piano or doing many of the crafts I find on Pinterest.

6. What is one thing about yourself that would surprise people?

I guess I deer hunt, which is kind of unexpected by looking at me.

Well, there you have it: a true South Dakota girl, through and through. Give Ashton a warm welcome; we’re so happy to have her at Lemon.ly!
