It’s officially day one of our 12 days of giving, and with that we’re proud to announce our first charity, selected by our Office Coordinator Alyssa. Read her thoughts below on why she chose The American Cancer Society as her charity of choice. To learn more about Lemonly’s 12 days of giving, read our introductory post here.
What charity you selected and what they do: The American Cancer Society has been striving to create a world with less cancer for over 100 years. Whether it’s keeping you well, getting you well again, or finding a cure, they do it all. What I love about this charity is that they support all cancer. So if you’re like me, who have known people with various different kinds of cancer, this charity will help them all.
Why you chose this charity: I chose to donate $1,000 to the American Cancer Society because they create survivors. Cancer is not new to my family. My grandmother is currently fighting colon cancer, and my mother-in-law is just beginning the fight against lung cancer. If my $1,000 prompts research that can potentially save my family members, your family members, or even our future children… the reward would be momentous.
