Sharing infographics on Facebook, Twitter, etc. is harder than it looks.
We’ve seen plenty of people have a solid infographic with a great story, then just share a link to it on Facebook with no visual or commentary. Know what usually happens? No likes. No shares. No clicks. Ouch.
If you don’t share your sweet visual the right way online, your infographic likely won’t give you the results you were looking for. We’ve shared our thoughts on posting infographics on Facebook before, but we wanted to expand a bit.
What do you do?
First off, remember your work doesn’t stop with a shiny final infographic. You should have a plan for posting it online. Our first choice would be on your blog or another landing page within your website that gives readers context on the piece and easy options for sharing.
Once you’ve nestled your sweet visual in its web-based home, it’s time to promote and share! After years and years of infographic-making experience, we’ve come across a few best practices for sharing infographics on social media. (Infographics’ unique size makes sharing them a bit different than posting, say, your vacation photos.) We’re not talking about best times to post or best action words, rather tips and tricks to increase your infographic’s impact on social media.
