7 Reasons Self-Encrypting Drives Are Better For Business
A Classic Infographic for Samsung
#Technology
Since data and security breaches continue to be huge issues for businesses and consumers year over year, our friends at Samsung wanted to illustrate just why self-encrypting drives (SED) Solid State Drives (SSD) are more secure for businesses over hard disk drives (HDD). From the outside, an SED SSD functions as an ordinary drive, processing reads and writes. But, deep inside the drive electronics, just before the data ‘bits’ are written to the drive media, an encryption engine applies real-time encryption to the data stream, so that the ‘bits’ are encrypted and therefore unreadable to an unauthorized intruder. Whether you’re a business owner or not, it may be smart to read this infographic! 🙂
