Confronting Commercial Exploitation And Sex Trafficking Of Minors In The U.S.

A Classic Infographic for Institute of Medicine

#Health

Commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking of minors in the US are commonly overlooked, misunderstood, and unaddressed forms of child abuse.  While estimates of these crimes in the United States range, instances have been reported in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Despite the serious and long-term consequences for victims as well as their families, communities, and society, efforts to prevent, identify, and respond to these crimes are largely under supported, inefficient, uncoordinated, and unevaluated. In this infographic, we worked with the IOM to help illustrate what can be done to stop exploitation and trafficking of minors around each community.
