Meet Brandon, the newest content manager on the Lemonly team! This Sioux Falls, S.D., native and University of Nebraska-Lincoln advertising graduate will be posting frequently on our blog, running our social channels, and assisting clients with copy needs and edits. If you’re looking at something Lemonly-related in the future, chances are Brandon will have had something to do with it.

In true Lemonly fashion, we couldn’t resist our usual newbie interrogation. Learn more about what inspires Brandon and if he tipped the scale in our in-office burrito vs. pizza debate.

What led you to become a content manager?

I used to write stories as a kid and learned in college that people in advertising will pay you for it, so I was sold. Also, it seems like a nice intersection of my passions for writing and keeping tabs on popular culture.

What’s your favorite app?

Pocket helps me keep up with the things I want to read despite my general unorganized-ness. Ridiculous Fishing is a favorite for downtime.

Do you have any pets?

I’m a dog dad to a German Shepherd named Harper. Her favorite things are hikes, belly scratches, and food she’s not supposed to eat.

What is one thing about yourself that would surprise people?

I’m an objectively great ping-pong player.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I spend most of my time keeping my dog occupied, messing with my car, or making my way through my watchlist.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you be? and why?

James Bond. Getting shot at would suck, but the cars, money, and clothes would probably make up for it.

What’s your favorite genre of music to work to?

Usually something laid back like Surfer Blood, Beach Fossils, or FM-84.

Do you have a favorite blog or podcast?

If I Were You is an advice podcast by two of my favorite comedians, who take emails from fans and try to help them out of their sticky situations. It’ll make you laugh and realize just how comparatively ordinary your life is.

JohnTesi.com is one of the best blogs I’ve found recently. I don’t really know much about the guy, but he writes beautifully about life, road trips, dogs, and other stuff pretty much everybody can relate to.

Name something on your bucket list.

Haven’t spent a lot of time thinking about these. Driving the Pacific Coast Highway in a cool car would be a fun one.

What did you say you were going to be when you grew up?

Either the Minnesota Timberwolves’ point guard or a member of a famous skateboarder’s crew. Like Rob Dyrdek’s cousin.

What drew you to Lemonly?

Lemonly has a strong reputation for company culture as well as top-notch work, and I was excited by the opportunity to help explore new products/services/projects for the team to work on. But mostly, the glare off Michael Mazourek’s shiny, beautiful head.

If you had to pick one for the rest of your life, would you choose burritos or pizza? Why?

As a ridiculously picky eater, I’d need to know what was in the burrito. I’m gonna say pizza just in case there are beans.

(Update: the current team numbers are 11 for team pizza, 8 for team burrito.)

With two weeks under his belt, he already feels like a long-time Lemonhead. We’re excited to have you on the team, Brandon!
